Kukula Fund 1 was established in 2010 as a venture capital fund with an aim to take USD 0.2-1m minority positions with board representation in promising, established SMEs and help them scale up.
We invest in a diversified range of startups with high growth potential, incl. tech, forestry, and financial services. SMEs must have a satisfactory exit strategy which can be executed within 5-7 years.

Kukula Seed Fund, a permanent capital vehicle, was established in 2013 to identify, build and operate early stage growth companies in Zambia.
We make investments of USD 1 - 4m in scaleable start-up projects with great potential for long-term value creation. Through our locally based offices, we build strong teams with technically competent partners. Our approach is very hands-on with operational control. We grow seeds into medium to large-sized companies within five to seven years. Our focus is local production, clean tech, and financial services.
